Receive quality cylindrical parts
at a fast turnaround and with a high degree of
accuracy through CNC Swiss turning from John Prosock
Machine, Inc. Swiss turning was initially developed
for the Swiss watch industry and eventually proved
useful in the manufacturing of small, complex,
and precise parts. Today, John Prosock utilizes
the most advanced and world-renowned CNC Swiss
turning centers to machine ideal parts for all
industries from automotive, to electronics, to
musical instruments, to pharmaceutical, and more.
What
is CNC Swiss Turning?
In CNC machining companies, Swiss turning centers
allow parts to move along a Z-axis while the tools
remain stationary. This process is contrary to
conventional turning in which the part is stationary
and the tools move. Materials are firmly held
within the machine and are advanced through a
guide bushing. With the guide bushing, only one
section of the material is machined at any given
time, which almost completely eliminates deflection
and vibration as well as dramatically improves
part accuracy. The type of guide bushing and the
condition of the material determines tighter fits
and tolerances. At John Prosock Machine, we employ
high-quality, high-performance guide bushings
and materials including stainless steel, brass,
and aluminum, just to name a few.

CNC Swiss
turning’s extreme versatility
John Prosock Machine’s CNC Swiss turning
is equipped with live tools that can mill and
drill materials as they advance from the guide
bushing. Live tools save time in production. Additionally,
our Swiss turning centers are outfitted with drilling
and boring tools on back working tool stations.
CNC Swiss turning utilizes numerous tools to provide
a variety of machining techniques, which can be
performed in a single precision machining process.
The old perception that Swiss turning
machines were designed to produce millions of
simplistic, 25-cent parts no longer applies. Now,
CNC machining companies recognize that Swiss turning
machines can produce highly complex parts without
the need for secondary operations. As the perception
has shifted from old to new, more machine shops
are investing in Swiss turning technology. However,
anyone can purchase this equipment, but making
the best use of it is the key to a successful
CNC machining company. This is where John Prosock
Machine, Inc. shines. Our operators are familiar
with the machines and know what it takes to modify
standard tooling processes. We use our machines
to their full potential for parts that exceed
customer expectations.
When precision is a
must, trust CNC Swiss turning at John Prosock
Machine, Inc.
